Super Good Pound Cake
Recipe courtesy of Beverly Beard of Stedman, a member of South River EMC. "This was my mom's recipe and I have gotten many compliments any time I have served it. The almond flavoring adds a distinctive flavor to this recipe. You may omit it if you desire."
1 lb. butter
3 cups sugar
6 eggs
4 cups flour
3/4 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 tsp. almond flavoring
Cream butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs one at the time. Add flour and milk, alternating each. Add flavorings. Bake in a greased, floured tube pan for 1 hour 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.
