Cajun Jambalaya
1 lb. ground meat
1 lb. smoked sausage
1 large onion
3 stalks celery
1 medium green bell pepper
3 toes of garlic
1 cup uncooked rice
2 small cans tomato sauce
2 tomato sauce cans of water
Salt and pepper to taste
Best to cook in an electric fry pan at 400 degrees.
Brown ground meat in electric fry pan, add sliced sausage and brown. Add chopped seasonings and stir continuously. Add rice, salt and pepper, stir until browned. Add tomato sauce and water and stir, mixing all ingredients. Cover and turn down thermostat to 250 degrees and cook about 30 minutes. Stir after 15 minutes, should be cooked down but can add more water if too dry.
Yield: Serves 6-8 |
