Q: I keep my thermostats on 78 all the time but leave the ceiling fans going when I go to work. Would it save more to turn the fans off when I leave?

A: Ceiling fans cool people, not rooms, so turn off the ceiling fan when you leave the room. Depending upon the size of the fan, you will save approximately 50-100 watts per hour with the fan off when you are gone.
