The Kid Mobile

Four years after we purchased our 1991 Ford Explorer in August 1990 we had children. This car was an important part of our children’s lives and mine. We spent many hours in our Kid Mobile.” It was part of our family. We also had lots of our children’s friends in that Kid Mobile.” Imagine seeing this shiny red and white vehicle cruising down the road with all the windows down, the music blasting loud, and all the kids, including the mom, singing their favorite songs at the tops of their lungs. My children grew up in this Kid Mobile which we kept for 14 years.

When my son was 4, I took the car to the shop to have a new muffler installed. When the shop attendant put the car on the lift and started lifting the car into the air, my son asked, “Mom is our car going to heaven?” I said, “No, son, we still get to keep it a little longer.”
