What a plow can do

I am 85 years old and enjoy working outside. My cousin made the garden plow for me. When my oldest son saw it he said, “Mama, you can plow with that plow all you want, but I will never plow with it.” I have enjoyed using it; it would be hard if I just had a hoe to use.

I start doing things in my garden in the fall. I pull up all the dead plants and put them in a compost pile, so when spring comes, I won’t have as much work to do. I always enjoy my flowers and enter the flowers as well as vegetables in the fair exhibits. I won 18 ribbons and made $58 this year.

I heard it was going to frost last night so I picked the peppers and tomatoes. I will share with my family and friends. I wrap the tomatoes in newspapers to ripen so we can have fresh tomatoes for Thanksgiving.
