The man who ran for President

The other day at a family gathering I found out something about my grandfather that I never knew before: My grandfather ran for President against Richard Nixon. My parents said that they had always known this, but they had never told me. WHAT’S HIS NAME?

He told us about how he traveled the country giving speeches. He said that it cost a lot of money to run for President, but it was one of the best experiences of his life. He went to almost every state in the United States. At first I didn’t believe him, but then he showed me pictures of him on stage during a speech. He then told me that he met my grandmother while he was touring the country during election year. He said he met her in Washington, D.C. My grandfather said for a while he stayed in touch with Richard Nixon and they talked about things happening in government and how to make the United States better.
