Learning to grow up

As a baby I learned:

• Toys need to be shared
• Seagulls aren’t nice
• The slide is for everyone
• And ants don’t taste like chocolate

As a kid I learned:

• Recess isn’t the best part of school
• School isn’t always fun
• Friends won’t always be there
• And the sidewalk is a bad place to fall

As a young teenager I learned:

• Shaving my legs isn’t always fun
• Clothes aren’t the only thing that matters
• Riding horses is dangerous
• And pick relationships wisely

As a 17-year-old I learned:

• Be true to yourself
• It’s not fun being a horse’s landing cushion
• Love sucks
• And hangovers aren’t a good morning wake-up call
