The four-wheeler
Was I ever angry! My husband brought
home a four-wheeler even though we couldn’t afford one. It
was 1983, my son Dustin was 3 years old, and money was tight. Little
did I know how much our lives were going to change.
We live out
in the country in Montgomery County, and we rode everywhere we
could find a trail. My son sat in front of his Dad, and I sat on
the back and held a towel around my son to hold him on.
When our
second son, Jason, was born, we had to invest in another four-wheeler.
One for my husband and one son. One for me and the other son.
We
have enjoyed our four-wheelers so much. Sometimes we packed food
and drinks and rode from dawn until night. As our boys grew we
found out how much fun mud could be. Sometimes we would be so muddy
from our rides, we would have to take our clothes off before going
in the house.
Our boys are grown now, and we don’t
get together for rides as often. But I can say our four-wheelers
have been the best investment we ever made because they were an
investment in family.
