How to Live a Long Life

Ride your bike backwards

My parents, Max and Ruth Bingham will soon be 77 and 76 years young. They attribute their health thus far to the grace of God and "good genes." Responsible eating habits and staying active (including riding their Sea Doos) have also kept them young at heart.

As far as their happiness, I know it comes from grateful hearts and a sense of humor. They enjoy life to the hilt, because they are full of gratitude for every blessing, and they delight in sharing those blessings with others.

Advice? Mom would say, "Join a Red Hat Club, hug your grandchildren often and watch lots of sunsets." Dad would say, "Take time to listen to Jerry Clower, ride your bike backwards occasionally, and don't eat pizza after 9 p.m." Above all, they both would say, "Be thankful for every day of life. Each breath is a gift from God."
