The junk stores
One day I discovered the “junk stores,” as I call them. All these things people donate are the things I never had. This is paradise, and the stuff is dirt cheap. A little crack here, a part missing, doesn’t make much difference if you have always wanted one.
Pretty soon the house is filled with items we don’t really need. This is habit-forming. Where do I place this precious item? I’m running out of space. But it’s such a good deal. I might need this one day, and I have always wanted one just like it.
I need a 1-800 number to call for this addiction I have, because this is really such a waste of money. Were my Dad and Mom so wrong after all? They said to buy what you need and use what you buy.
I tell myself that I don't drink, smoke or do drugs. Everyone has some kind of hang-up, don't they?
