Sweetness My name is Alvin High. I am a member of Pee Dee Electric and have been for 53 years. You might say I'm an old-timer. My nickname is Molasses. I was 12 years old and visiting a local cane mill with my father. I was dipping the cane syrup from the finishing pan and enjoying it very much. The owner of the cane mill had a son about my age. He saw what I was doing and told me that he was going to give me a nickname, Molasses. I told him okay. That nickname got started in the school and church we attended and has been my nickname for a lot of years. I am 77 years young and have been married 56 years to the same woman. We have two grown children, boys. As a family we have enjoyed being a member of Pee Dee Electric all of these years.
