On the way to Illinois

My family and I were traveling to Illinois
for Christmas this year to see family. Normally, it takes about
9 hours to get there.
This time it took a lot longer because
of the snow.
The first day we about got stranded on the
interstate, but thankfully the Lord was with us and we were able
to get off on an exit and find a motel room. On the other side
of the interstate people were stranded the whole night. We went
to at least six motels and all were booked up. We got the last
room at the seventh motel we stopped at.
The next day we had to go a different way
because the interstate was still backed up. A tractor-trailer about
ran us off the road on a two-lane highway, but the Lord was once
again with us and we were able to swerve to miss hitting him.
We ended up going through Missouri to get to Illinois, driving
300 miles out of the way.
But the kids were good, we had a good
visit with family, and we had a better trip on the way back home.
