Grandmom’s Green Smoothie

I am a southern grandmother and love cooking southern dishes and creating my own recipes. At 53 years of age, I have seen over the years many mothers having to go out and work, and they have no time to prepare healthy meals for their loved ones. I know that southern mothers like their families to eat well and have healthy meals. I have a greenhouse where I can grow greens all year long such as kale, spinach, celery, lettuce and collards. My granddaughter has been eating raw greens from the greenhouse since she could chew and swallow. She picks her own greens and eats them sitting right there. One way to make sure my granddaughters get fresh fruits and veggies everyday is to make green smoothies. I put in bananas, grapes, kale leaves or spinach. The banana sweetens the smoothies. Use a blender or a Vita-Mix.
