Using the remote at an early age

One day we could not find our remote control for the TV. We searched and searched, asking our son, Travis, if he knew where it was. No, of course he didn’t.

After some time having to get up to push the buttons (not turn the knobs as we used to do growing up), we found the remote. Not anywhere you would expect.

When you’re potty training a 2-year-old boy, you usually leave the toilet seat lid up. During a cleaning excursion, what to my wondering eyes should appear? Yep, right there in that little spot between the lid and tank was our TV remote control.

Maybe it was a vision of what was to come 12 years later. Travis is now 14 and a techno wiz. When I want to watch TV, a DVD, video or need details about the computer, I must rely on his expertise.
