True to each other
I was 16 years old and Richard was 18 years old. We eloped to get married. My Daddy cried and Mama got mad. We had little money and went on a borrowed car. We stayed at Grandma Moss’s house the first night and slept on a feathered mattress. They said it wouldn’t last long.
We worked hard and saved all we could. We were true to each other and always put the children first. Fifty years later we have bought and paid for land and our nice home. We raised three wonderful children: Dale, Chris and Elizabeth. We are blessed with four grandchildren: Steven, Philip, Chad and Bobbi Jean, all in college.
What a joy ride it has been. God has been good. It can be done if you try, try, try.
