Lasting Lantana

Before summer’s heat arrives, lantana can be transplanted with success. In late May and early June, cuttings are easily rooted from tip growth. Remove flowers and dust cut end with Rootone. Plunge cuttings into a container of moist potting soil. Container should have drainage holes. They should root in several weeks. Lantanas are effective groundcovers for steep slopes; they are also a good choice for stone walls. These plants prefer full sun and fertile soil.
