Displaying Dark and Light Plants

Landscape architects borrow a rule from professional photographers. When they photograph a subject of light coloring, it is posed against a dark background. And a dark subject requires a lightly colored background. White and colored flowers are planted in front of dark backgrounds, including fences, stone walls, and buildings. Or deep, dark colors are displayed near white fences or buildings.
