Houseplants Go Outdoors

Winter houseplants such as begonia, geranium, impatiens and coleus often become overgrown and leggy by February. To add welcome color to outdoor flower beds in the late spring and summer, make root cuttings of these houseplants now. Root in moist sand. Strong root systems will develop before the weather warms in the spring.
