Purple Coneflowers

Blooming throughout the summer, purple coneflowers (Echinacea purpurea) blooms throughout the summer. They’re great additions to the flower border. They prefer full sun, good drainage, and soil that has some organic mater in it. When planting this time of year, place them at the depth as they were in the container. Water well until they are established. Coneflowers are drought tolerant, their flowers attract butterflies and bees; and after they have finished blooming in the fall, their seedheads will be eaten by birds.
