Increasing Azaleas

This is the month to root azaleas. Make cuttings 3 to 4 inches from the branch tip. Remove all but the top two leaves. Dip the cut end in Roottone, then stick it in rooting bed. The bed should be in filtered light or shade. Keep cuttings moist. Empty cans with drainage holes can be used. Put cans in the shade. Azaleas are not difficult to root and are a means of expanding your collection at the cost of only the Roottone. In a year or two the small plants will be ready to be moved to permanent sites.
