Perennials by Christmas

Many perennials can be started from seed at this time, yielding bloom color before Christmas. Plant the following perennials now for blooms next year: hollyhock, gaillardia, Shasta daisy and delphinium. Cool seeds of pansy, snapdragon and delphinium in your refrigerator crisper for seven to ten days before planting.
