Potting Soil for Houseplants
A complete soil mix is not needed to grow houseplants. On the other hand, plain old garden soil is not enough. A suitable mixture for most houseplants includes equal parts good garden soil, peat moss, and sand or perlite. Keep the mixture handy during the winter for future potting or repotting.
