Japanese Beetles and June Beetles

Both Japanese and June beetles lay their eggs in mid and late summer. When hatched, young larvae or grubs feed on roots and underground stems of grasses and other plants. Watch carefully for brown patches on the lawn and for sickly or dying annuals, perennials and shrubs. Grubs feed fairly closely to the soil’s surface. To spot grubs, roll back turf or dig around suspect plants. Treat with insecticide immediately. Irrigate after application so chemical is washed down into infected areas.
