Personalized mailbox prints

Artist and Blue Ridge Electric member Evie Salter makes personalized, fanciful drawings depicting two squirrels playing on an old-style mailbox attached to a rustic log post. The prints are on high-quality, 11-by-14-inch paper. Salter makes each print unique by hand-lettering a name on the mailbox and hand-coloring each one. Prints are $12 each, plus $3 shipping. Mats in various colors are available at an additional cost.

South Carolina artist Jim Harrison dedicates himself to preserving the rural images of the Carolinas and U.S. He began his career 50 years ago in rural Bamberg County south of Columbia, S.C., as a sign painter with J.J. Cornforth. He began producing fine art prints in the 1970s and went on to be featured in galleries and exhibitions throughout the nation. His gallery in rural Denmark, S.C., is housed in the building where he had his start as a sign painter. Visitors are welcomed.“Cotton Field” is available as limited edition prints ($185) and canvas transfer images ($690) measuring 15 by 30 inches, and can be framed or unframed.

“I’m Home—Beaufort Waterfront and the Meka II” by Mary Warshaw

Capt. Horatio Sinbad, a resident of Beaufort, guided his 54-foot tall ship, the Meka II, to victory during Americas’ Sail 2002. By winning the Class B race in Montego Bay, Jamaica, Capt. Sinbad earned the right to defend his title in his homeport of Beaufort during the Pepsi Americas’ Sail 2006 to be held there June 30–July 5.

Mary Warshaw, a Beaufort artist, painted the ship sailing into port at the Beaufort waterfront, and titled the 18-by-36-inch painting “I’m Home—Beaufort Waterfront and the Meka II.”

Print sizes and prices are: open edition 9-by-18-inch on paper ($75); open edition 12-by-24-inch on paper ($150); signed and numbered 18-by-36-inch limited editions on paper ($275); signed and numbered 18-by-36-inch limited editions on canvas ($325).

Prints can be purchased by contacting any of the following outlets: Beaufort Historical Association’s Old Beaufort Shop, Handscapes Gallery, Harbor Specialties, N.C. Maritime Museum, Rocking Chair Book Store and Scuttlebutt.

Subjects for artist Stacy Bottoms’ oils and watercolors range from vintage trucks, churches and country landscapes to a host of women, men and children. Bottoms, who lives in Mt. Pleasant, says painting has been a blessing in his life and his landscapes often remind him of somewhere he has been before. Prices range from $35 for prints to $150 for prints on canvas. “Reflecting on Tweetsie” is a 16-by-20-inch print on archival paper. It sells for $40, in an edition of 100.
