Curbing domestic violence in Hyde County

Hyde County Hotline is a newly formed service with a mission to help eliminate domestic violence and sexual victimization in Hyde County. Based on the understanding that “if you are not safe in your home, it does not matter if your community is safe,” Hyde County Hotline is working with other agencies to aid those affected by violence. “Domestic violence is a hidden crippler of families,” says Eve Contreras, client service advocate. “Sexual victimization is a robber of dignity. They both can leave physical as well as emotional scars.” The service relies on volunteers to make it work best. For information on what service the agency provides and how you can help, contact the office in Swan Quarter.
