The University of North Carolina Press has published a book and catalog, “The Potter’s Eye,” that accompanies the exhibition. Mark Hewitt and Nancy Sweezy, both working potters in North Carolina, compiled the book. Hewitt’s section looks at the seeds of North Carolina pottery tradition in early Asian and European pottery and shows their growth into the North Carolina work of the 19th century. Sweezy presents profiles of six contemporary North Carolina potters who are featured in the exhibition.

The book is 296 pages with 235 color illustrations and costs $39.95 in hardcover. For more information, visit the museum or contact University of North Carolina Press, P.O. Box 2288, Chapel Hill, NC 27515. http://uncpress.unc.edu
