The family Nova
I bought a 1970 Chevy Nova for my sister, Gay Nell. She had just started to work as a nurse in Richmond, Va., after graduation. I had already been working a couple of years. I paid $3,200 for it brand new, then she paid me back in payments.
In February, two of my brothers, Lynn and Tony, and I went to celebrate my sister’s 57th birthday. While I was there I got to drive the car again. As you can see, she still owns it. It looks and drives real well for a 38-year-old car.
Our family works kind of like our electric co-op, EnergyUnited. We work together to make things better for the whole family. I later borrowed money from my brother Lynn to buy my car, and I paid him back too!
