My pony ride

The best ride I ever had was back during high school. Nothing could beat the feeling of dropping the top on my 1966 Mustang convertible and feeling the wind in my hair and the sun in my face. I will never forget being 16 and free in that clearwater aqua dream! The power of a 289 stick drive made all the upper school boys beg to take it for a drive, but I knew better. You see, my ride was really my Daddy’s car. He trusted me enough with his jewel to let me drive it every day to school. He even let the cheerleaders pile all on top of it for the annual parade in Monroe. Seeing that car still brings back a flood of great memories. My Daddy still has that car. It is all neatly covered in his garage. He takes it out now and then, usually with his grandkids in it begging for the day that they’ll get behind the wheel and take it for a spin.
