Dream come true At 12 years old I fell in love with my sister’s car Volkswagen Karman Ghia and decided it would one day be my car, too. You have to be 18 to get your drivers license in Germany, and one day I looked in the paper and saw an ad for a Karman Ghia. I went to see it, and when the lady opened her garage I saw a bright yellow Karman Ghia, and my dream came true. I loved the sound of the engine and body style. There were many people who offered the seller more money then I had saved, but the lady wanted to give her car to someone who would treasure it, so she sold it to me for the amount I had saved. When I drove it home I was in heaven. I loved that car, and I will be forever thankful to the lady who sold it to me when she could have sold it for a lot more money. It taught me to never stray from my heart’s desire and dreams, because they can come true when the time is right. Andrea Gilligan |
