Raggedy Jacob and Raggedy Morgan

When my son Jacob and my niece Morgan were toddlers we tried to come up with an idea for their Halloween costumes. We decided since they acted like brother and sister, we would dress them as “brother and sister.”
Our Aunt Debbie let us use the outfits from her child-sized Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. We were so excited because we knew they were going to be so cute. We got busy buying mop heads, dyeing them red (but they turned out pink) and trimming them to frame their sweet little faces. We were so excited and just knew they would be, too!
Well, it was hard to impress these 18- and 22-month-olds who had no idea who Raggedy Ann and Andy were. Morgan was so impressed that she fell asleep while we were drawing her false eye lashes on with makeup. My aunt had to hold their hands down to keep them from pulling off their wigs. Everyone thought they were so sweet and precious. They were “living dolls” and their costumes are still my favorites.
