Protecting the Indian Summer
We planted a dozen or
so knockout roses in a circle around my patio in front of my house.
My friend Jon passed by the garden center in April and found these
yellow flowers called Indian Summer. He brought them home and wondered
if they would even grow.
We found the cranes at another store and
placed them in the rose garden. Look at what we got from those
wilted Indian Summer plants! What a show we had all summer. They
just bloomed and bloomed with little care and with the drought.
We watered them some, but not a lot, and the deer did not seem
to like them as much the cranes.
