Ol' Front Porch Music Festival

The streets of Oriental, North Carolina, come alive with the sound of down-home music every year on the first weekend in October. The Ol’ Front Porch Music Festival showcases local and regional bands performing on the front porches of homes throughout the small harbor town, and on a riverfront stage. The music ranges from bluegrass, country, pop, and acoustic to gospel, reggae, and more. Inspired by pick-up music sessions that took place regularly on the porch of Captain Billy and Lucille Truitt’s Ol’ Store decades ago, the Ol’ Front Porch Music Festival is a tribute to the region’s musical roots. It is free and open to the public. The festival also includes a Village Artisans Market and a Food Park featuring the best offerings from local restaurants.
