Almond Tarts

Pretty pleasing to the palate and the eye, these petite pies boast a mere six ingredients. And with a pre-made crust, it doesn't get any simpler or tastier than this!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup almond paste
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 package Pillsbury pie crusts
  • Slivered almonds

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Mix the almond paste, sugar, extract and egg well. Use a small food processor if you own one. Otherwise use a dough blender or mash with a spoon.

  3. Place a mini tart pan on the rolled-out dough and use a sharp knife to cut a slightly larger circle around it. Press the dough into the tart pans. Fill the pans about ⅔ full with the almond mixture and top with sliced almonds.

  4. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.

  • YUM!!! These are so delicious, so lovely to look at and so simple to make! Thank you for sharing this recipe!! This is my husbands new favorite dessert. I love that there are so few ingredients and it’s such an easy recipe to make, even I have time to make it (and I have little kids). I’ve read other recipes for almond tarts and they are too long for me to even attempt. I can’t imagine them tasting any better than these!
