Baked Apples with Honey Topping

The smell of these honey-and-sugar-stuffed apples baking will have autumn fans rejoicing. Fall for fall all over again as you fork up these tender, cinnamon-sprinkled apples drizzled with honey.

Ingredients

  • 6 apples
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • 3 teaspoons butter

Honey Topping

  • ½ cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ¼ teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Wash and core apples, and place in baking pan or dish. Stir together honey and sugar and fill apple centers with this mixture. Sprinkle with a little cinnamon and top each one with 1/2 teaspoon butter. Bake approximately 1 hour.

  3. For the topping, combine ingredients in saucepan and cook slowly until syrupy. Remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Drizzle over baked apples.
