Do you know… half the wetlands in the U.S. are already gone?
The U.S. has lost more than half of the wetlands in the lower 48 states. Wetlands have many important functions that benefit people and wildlife. They collect and hold flood waters, absorb wind and tidal forces, provide places of beauty and host many recreational activities. Wetlands purify water as it flows through, and wetland plants help control water erosion.
