Just like a winding road, this ode to the Blue Ridge Parkway by Steve Lewis and Richard Tumbleston whisks listeners away on a refreshing musical journey. The talented duo’s CD, “Blue Ridge Time,” is filled with masterful pickin’ and smooth vocal harmonies that mix Americana, folk, and bluegrass and traces of country and blues. Other noteworthy tracks include “Carolina Feeling” and "Ballad of a Mountain Boy" (about leaving home to work up North during the Great Depression). Richard, a visual artist in Boone, illustrated the CD’s cover, as well as composed the lyrics and music for its 17 songs. Steve’s a national champion of on both flat pick guitar and banjo and lives in West Jefferson.

Both men are Blue Ridge Energy members. They are joined on the album by Scott Freeman on fiddle and mandolin and Josh Scott on upright bass.
