These talented sisters serve up a fresh take on this old gospel favorite about crossing over to the eternal land. It’s one of 11 tunes on their album, “Coming Home.” Its other offerings include their poignant, original “Frost on the Ground.” Musicians Stephen Ayers and Aubrey Pratt also perform on the CD.

The sisters’ band, The Lang Sisters, meld folk, gospel and bluegrass traditions to create their own acoustic sound. Jessie, age 16, is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has won guitar, vocal and ensemble performance awards at competitions throughout North Carolina and Virginia. Chloe, 20, is a strong rhythm player and vocalist for the duet who also plays the piano and percussion and has a special interest in arts education. To learn more about them, visit thelangsisters.com, or buy their CD ($12.99 + free shipping). For touring updates, visit facebook.com/thelangsisters.

  • These two beautiful sisters sound like angels. Jessie is quite the accomplished writer. Her writing about ChamJAM Summer Camp was written so well I felt like I was there. Thank you for blessing me with the talents God gifted you both with.

  • Wayfarin' Stranger is a tremendous coordinated effort to display a folksong. The fiddle fits in and really adds to the melodic expression. Jim Horn

  • it was good the music didn't out do the voices, sound was defined and sharp , voices need to back away from the microphone, not giving a far away sadness.
