Interchangeable Watermelon Wraps

Watermelon makes a surprisingly delicious addition to a savory wrap, and it provides several health benefits. Watermelon contains higher levels of lycopene than any other fresh fruit or vegetable and is a source of vitamins A, B6 and C, as well as potassium. To make your wrap, select from the options at the bottom of the page, gather your ingredients, and dig into the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 tortilla
  • 2–4 teaspoons spread
  • 5–8 slices meat
  • 1 watermelon spear, about ½-inch thick, 1-inch wide
  • 2–4 teaspoons sauce
  • 2–4 slices cheese

Directions

  1. For any wrap, start with a spread (chive cream cheese, hummus, guacamole or Greek yogurt) to help the fillings stick together. 

  2. Place the rest of your ingredients in the center of a tortilla and put the watermelon spear on top. 

  3. Roll the tortilla over, tucking where needed. Fasten with a toothpick, if desired.

Middle Eastern Veggie  Corn tortilla, hummus with pine nuts, watermelon, mint and cucumber slices

Ginger Chicken  Wheat wrap, chicken, watermelon, teriyaki ginger sauce, sweet chili and ginger sauce, Bibb lettuce and Brussels sprouts

Hawaiian  Spinach wrap, pineapple cream cheese, ham, watermelon, sweet chili and ginger sauce and cilantro
