Candied Baked Pecans

These dressed-up pecans make a thoughtful, homemade holiday gift in a cute jar with a ribbon. You can also top a salad or a dessert with some pecans for an extra bit of sweetness. Or just grab a few for a quick snack!

Ingredients

  • 1 large egg white, unbeaten
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 cups pecan halves

Directions

  1. Grease baking sheet or line with parchment paper.

  2. Stir all ingredients together with fork, then add pecans and coat well. Pour onto the baking sheet and bake at 250 degrees for 30 minutes. Then turn pecans over, gently break them apart if necessary, and bake 30 more minutes.

  3. Remove from oven and allow to cool on pan. Store in an airtight container for a week (or for 3 weeks in the refrigerator).
