In life, opportunities to make a difference are all around us. Sometimes the smallest action means more than you know.
That’s the case with members and employees contributing to Operation Round Up. The crisis heating assistance provided by the Blue Ridge Electric Members Foundation through Operation Round Up funds helps right here at home — giving a helping hand to people who could be your friends or neighbors.
And the need has never been greater. Early 2018 brought some of the coldest temperatures in years, which means people need a lot more heat — and as a result, energy bills are the highest we've seen in some time!
That’s why we’ve re-established the “So No One Goes Cold” campaign. Now, more people than ever can receive crisis heating funds through the Members Foundation. In addition to member and employee donations, the two subsidiaries of your cooperative are contributing on an annual basis to Operation Round Up. Our Propane and Fuels subsidiary is giving $25,000, and RidgeLink, which leases high capacity fiber to businesses, schools, hospitals and cellular providers, is donating another $25,000.
A lot of families are keeping warm, thanks to efforts like Operation Round Up. But we still need your help! I’d like to personally invite our members, employees, and others to join us in our “So No One Goes Cold” campaign. Whether you can donate $1, $10 or $100, your contribution will make a difference. Every penny donated goes to help those in need. And all donations are voluntary and based upon the member’s request.
During this 10th anniversary of the Members Foundation, I’m reminded that the power behind it has always been the cooperative spirit of joining together to help each other. So, won’t you join us in this special campaign? You may never know the gratitude of the person you help, but your good deed may just be the spark that keeps hearts and homes warm this winter.
Join us to make sure no one goes cold!
