Piedmont Electric is a not-for-profit electric cooperative. When the money we collect in a year is more than the funds we spend, we return this money to members as a credit. When we cannot locate former members to return their credit, we hold these funds for four years. Visit pemc.coop/capitalcredit to search for unclaimed credits. After four years we are required to send the funds to the state treasurer. Visit nccash.com or call 800.582.0615 to claim these funds.
“Capital credits are what we call any excess revenue that is returned to our members over time. This is the third cooperative principle in action!” — Leslie Brooks, Supervisor of Financial Accounting
