She is the daughter of Darren and Amy Honeycutt and attends Anson County Early College High School, where she’s involved in Rotary Interact, Student Government, National Honor Society and much more. Allison works at the Marshville Pharmacy and enjoys spending time with friends, hunting, being outdoors with her chocolate lab, Gage, and volunteering at Autumn Care in Marshville.

Allison will join Youth Tour delegates from electric cooperatives across the state as they tour our nation’s capital. During the trip, students will network with peers from across the country, meet members of Congress, and visit national museums and historical landmarks.

“I am very excited about being chosen to attend the NRECA Youth Tour to Washington. I applied because I thought this would be a great opportunity to learn more about the history of our country and how this great nation is governed,” stated newly selected Youth Tour delegate, Allison Honeycutt.

The Youth Tour is a joint effort between local electric cooperatives, statewide associations, and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) based in Arlington, Va. The experience combines the history of electric cooperatives, the cooperative business model, and the U.S. government into a once-in-a-lifetime leadership opportunity.

“Youth Tour is one of the many ways Pee Dee Electric invests in future generations and helps our young members find a path to accomplish their dreams and seek new opportunities,” commented Megan Shaw, Pee Dee Electric’s communications specialist. “We are proud to have Allison represent the cooperative in Washington, D.C., this year.”
