Beaded lizards and bears and elephants, oh my! The North Carolina Zoo appeals to all ages and offers adventure, wonder and a wide range of animals and plants in the world’s largest natural habitat zoo, served by Randolph EMC.
More than 1,800 animals reside in four different habitats: North America, Africa, the aviary, and the desert. The marvels of nature abound, from polar bears and alligators, to giraffes and lions, to Chilean flamingoes and golden-crested mynas, to Gila monsters and the ornate uromastyx (a lizard found in Africa and Asia). Feeding times are popular to see animals and zookeepers at work; check the website on the day of your visit for times.
It’s just an awesome experience for animal lovers and families.
