Co-op Welcomes New Employees - Carolina Country
March 2024

Halifax EMC was fortunate to welcome three new employees in the month of January. We are excited to welcome them to the co-op family and to introduce them to you!

Anthony “Ant” Corprew is a recent graduate of East Carolina University’s electrical engineering program. He joins HEMC as a System Engineer. He and his wife, Tashiana, are parents to three children: Savion, Aah’Ness and Saint-Royil. Ant says he doesn’t have a lot of time for hobbies as he is busy raising three well-rounded humans. He is excited to join HEMC and is inspired by the connection the co-op has to its community.

Sonya Keel has been hired to transition into the role of Director of Finance and Accounting. She joins us from a public accounting firm and brings with her decades of CPA experience as well as time spent in manufacturing and non-profit leadership positions. Sonya and her husband, Russ, have three children: Taylor, Jon and Sarah, and two grandsons. She enjoys cooking new recipes, traveling to the North Carolina mountains, gardening, and spending time with her family. Sonya will work closely with our current Director of Finance, Wanda Cooke, as she prepares to retire later this year.

In late January, HEMC welcomed Margaret Daniel as the newest Member Services Representative in the Enfield office. Margaret has previous customer service experience in telecommunications and most recently was employed by a local car dealership. She is the proud mother to two adult children, David and Reshea. She enjoys traveling, shopping, and helping others.
