Sweet Tater & Peanut Butter Doggie Ice Cream

This recipe won second place (miscellaneous category) at the NC Sweet Potato Festival a few years ago. Dogs with diabetes, obese canines or those under a year old should not be given honey unless approved by your vet. Since not all kitties can tolerate sweet potatoes, we suggest keeping this one for your doggies.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup low or nonfat plain yogurt

  • ½ cup sweet potato pulp, cooked and mashed

  • ¼ cup all natural peanut butter

  • Squirt of honey

  • Optional garnishes: crushed peanuts, banana chip crumbles

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients together in small bowl.

  2. Portion into small cups or muffin tin; freeze.

  3. Pop out onto serving plate and scatter with peanuts and/or banana chip crumbles for a little crunch!

Hi Susan,
The good news is that it really doesn't matter so use whichever one you happen to have on hand! Hope the pie turns out well...
