During this immersive two-day event, experience the story of the 6th North Carolina Infantry, whose members were recruited and mustered near Company Shops, present-day Burlington. In July 1861, these men made history as some of the first American soldiers to travel by train directly into combat, journeying to Manassas, Virginia, at the opening of the Civil War.
