The North Carolina Apple Festival is a four-day celebration of Henderson County’s stature as the leading apple-producing county in the state. Festival-goers choose from a variety of activities on Hendersonville’s Main Street: apple growers selling fresh apples and delicious goodies, continuous live entertainment, arts and crafts vendors, children’s activities and the famed King Apple Parade. Enjoy the spirit of a family-friendly hometown celebration in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and be sure to check out the Wells Fargo Kiddie Carnival featuring rides and inflatables at the south end of Main Street. The highlight on Labor Day is the King Apple Parade, filled with floats, bands, clowns, antique cars, fire engines and more. Henderson County produces more than 80 percent of apples grown in North Carolina and regularly ranks among the top 20 counties nationally.
