Douglas was one of nine to receive $1,000 in scholarship funding from the Tideland Electric Care Trust. Douglas is the son of Douglas and Betsy Niethammer of Aurora. He will be enrolled in the combined structural pipe welding program at the Arkansas Elite Welding Academy in Quitman, Arkansas.
