Here at Pee Dee, safety is top priority, and that’s why we stay committed to building a culture of safety that is fundamental to our daily operations. In fact, Pee Dee Electric is part of the Rural Electric Safety Achievement Program (RESAP) that follows specific guidelines and protocols for electrical safety that are considered leading practices. Our linemen are required to wear personal protective equipment when on the job. This includes special fire-resistant clothing that will self-extinguish, limiting potential injuries from burns and sparks, in addition to insulated rubber gloves to protect from electrical shock. Furthermore, we hold regular safety meetings each week to discuss important safety issues pertaining to work out in the field as well as work within the building.
