How long have you been in the industry?

I’ve been with Four County for almost 32 years. I started out reading meters for 5 years, then became the Warehouse Coordinator for 13 years. For the past 14 years, I’ve been an Energy Advisor.

What is your favorite part of the job?

Helping people lower their energy bills. As the Four County Energy Advisor, I cover a lot of territory and have met some wonderful people over the years. It really brightens my day when I assess a high bill complaint or do an energy audit, and the members talk to me like I’m one of them. Treat people with respect, and they will do the same.

What do you do outside of FCEMC?

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love fishing, especially flounder fishing. My brother and I have been participating in a flounder tournament hosted by the local fire department every year since 2000, and we’ve placed quite a few times. I also enjoy working in my yard and hanging out with my two dogs—they’re the coolest!

The process begins with analyzing the member’s energy usage data to identify trends and patterns. During an on-site evaluation, Energy Advisors inspect meters, discuss concerns with members, and identify opportunities for energy savings. By explaining usage data and offering tailored recommendations, they empower members to make informed decisions about their energy consumption.

Energy Advisors also provide resources like energy-saving guides to help members implement cost-effective strategies and reduce their energy bills. Their role is an essential part of Four County EMC’s mission to deliver safe, reliable, and affordable energy while enhancing the quality of life for our members.
